Twitter is testing longer character limit with a small group of users. By doubling the character limit to 280 characters Twitter hopes to address some of the frustration felt by those tweeting in English.
“Our research shows us that the character limit is a major cause of frustration for people Tweeting in English, but it is not for those Tweeting in Japanese,” Aliza Rosen from Twitter explained,
