Blog Name: Icyabstract Makeup.

1. When did you start blogging?

I first started beauty blogging about 2 years ago. Although I have been blogging in general since I was 14.

2. Why?

I felt I wanted something more then just my youtube page. A blog also acts as an extension where I can be more detailed in writing if I missed anything out in the video. It also enables me to high quality photos that show the products off better.

3. Describe your blog in one sentence.

Beauty tutorials and reviews along with a dash of fashion to mix things up.

4. Who are your readers?

From statistics, I have an international readership though the majority of my readers are from Singapore. I believe that most of my readers are females who are interested in what I have to say about beauty-related topics. A rough gauge of the age group would be at 13-29 (from youtube statistics).

5. Favourite beauty / skincare brands?

I try not to label a specific brand as a favorite because though I might love it, I do not wish to be tied down with the word ‘favorite’ as it does sound like a commitment. I guess I can say I am interested in MAC and Revlon, beautywise. Skincare-wise I am still rather new to this market.

6. Most popular blog posts?

That would be the entry where I feature my Make-Up collection and Storage methods.

7. How often do you blog?

I try to blog as often as I can make time to. I can safely say that on average I blog about once every 3 days, sometimes I do blog multiple entries in a day; it really depends.

8. What is your vision for your blog?

My vision is simply to keep at doing this for as long as I can and hope people will continue to enjoy reading what I have to say.

9. Why do you think more companies are targeting bloggers to market their products?

I suppose it could be that bloggers have a better appeal to the audience, as they might be more relatable. Bloggers are not necessarily celebrities thus the audience find it easier to accept a blogger’s opinion as something truthful and honest as opposed to advertisements in a separate media e.g. television and radio. Since those are often scripted, the audience might not feel it is ‘real’ enough.

10. Complete this sentence, companies who ignore social media…

Do not see the potential this sector holds.
